SUPPLY NEW IE3 ABB M2BAX ELECTRIC MOTOR TO REPLACE INEFFICIENT IE1 WEG MOTOR

Background: 

JJ Loughran were asked to repair a 110KW 6 Pole IE1 WEG Electric motor, the electric motor had completely failed onsite. Before any works were carried out, we informed the customer that we had designed a new Energy Save Calculator to ensure we kept the customer fully informed on the life cycle costs of their rotational devices.
 

The Solution: 

JJ Loughran’s new Energy Save Calculator ensures the most cost effective solution is sought along with taking into account the most energy efficient way to proceed with either repair or replacement of rotational equipment.

As an IE1 motor in this size is only 93.3% efficient compared to 95.1% efficiency of IE3 motor. Using this info along with motor loadings, Cost of electric Per kWh & Annual machine run hours, we were able to show the customer  considerable energy saving by selecting a new IE3 Electric motor via rewinding and overhauling the less efficient IE1 Motor.

As there was a slight footprint change to fit the New ABB IE3 motor into place, JJ Loughran’s mechanical engineers manufactured a specialised terminal box for the customer. This ensured that downtime was kept to a minimum onsite for the customer during motor changeover.
